SLOW DOWN (2)- THE SPIRITUAL PERSPECTIVE... (JOB 37:14, PSALMS 4:4)
FEAR is defined as a strong, uncontrollable, unpleasant emotion caused by actual or perceived danger or threat. Fear is the common result of ANXIETY ;it could be the fear of the unknown, the known, past events and occurrences, beliefs, etc. With Fear and Anxiety comes other problems like Nausea, Cardiac arrest, Hugh blood pressure, Restlessness etc.
In the midst of all these, we should try to SLOW DOWN by: Rejoicing always, Praying without ceasing, Giving thanks to God for everything, Abstaining from evil etc. The basic solution for FEAR is the PEACE OF GOD. This can only be achieved by living a Quiet life.
A Quiet life is one in which a person must try as much as possible to REST. Some spiritual disciplines to rejuvenate the body are:
1. Stand still and consider the wondrous works of God.
2. Exhalt God and be joyful always.
3. Be not jealous of others.
4. Focus on the essentials of life.
5. Prayer and Communion with our hearts at rest.
6. Don't compare with others, you can aspire to be like them.
7. Make quietness your ambition to experience God's peace.
